Cookies &
Tracking
Roastr does not use cookies for advertising or cross-site tracking. We show no cookie banner because we set no cookies that legally require consent.
What we use
Strictly-necessary session cookies
When you sign in, our authentication provider (StackAuth) sets a short-lived, HttpOnly session cookie so your browser stays authenticated. This cookie is essential to the service — it is never used for advertising, profiling, or cross-site tracking. It requires no consent banner under GDPR or ePrivacy rules because it is strictly necessary for a service you explicitly requested.
Privacy-preserving, cookieless analytics
We use PostHog to understand which marketing pages are useful to visitors. PostHog is configured in memory-only mode — it persists no identifiers to localStorage, sessionStorage, or cookies. Every page view is treated as anonymous; there is no cross-session or cross-site profile built for marketing visitors. Signed-in product users are identified only within their own session for product-improvement purposes and no data is sold or shared with third parties.
What we don't use
No advertising cookies, no cross-site trackers, no remarketing tags.
- No Google Ads / remarketing tags — we removed these entirely. No conversion pixel fires on any page.
- No third-party advertising networks — we do not participate in real-time bidding or behavioural ad targeting.
- No cross-site tracking identifiers — no fingerprinting scripts, no persistent ad-click IDs stored in cookies.
- No cookie consent banner — because we set no cookies that require one. The GDPR / ePrivacy consent requirement does not apply to strictly-necessary cookies or to genuinely cookieless analytics.
